Twisted teacher, 33, jailed after shooting ex's new lover, 26, in front of kids

A jilted mum has been jailed after shooting her ex-husband’s new lover in front of their three-year-old daughters.

Warped Chelsea Cook, 33, was caged for life in Salt Lake City, Utah, after pleading guilty to killing rival Lisa Williams in November 2018.

The high school health teacher sobbed as she apologised to the family of Lisa Williams, 26, in court.

She wept: “I was only thinking of myself and the extreme emotional pain I was experiencing.

“I’m so sorry they had to see me shoot and kill Lisa. All she ever did was love them.”

A court heard how she pretended to deliver medicine to her three-year-old twins, before locking herself in a bathroom when Williams told her to leave.

She then burst through the door and shot Williams several times from point-blank range.

Ex-husband Travis Cook calmly told the girls to go to their bedroom before pinning Chelsea to the wall and ripping away the gun.

Chelsea claimed she snapped in the belief that her kids were being taken away – but prosecutors revealed she had practiced driving to the house several times before shooting Williams.

Chelsea pleaded guilty to charges including aggravated murder in February as part of a plea deal to spare her the death penalty.

Addressing Chelsea in court, Lisa’s brother Hyrum Williams raged: “Because of you, I no longer get to hear her contagious laughter bouncing around the house.

“When you took Lisa’s life, you took a light from this world.”

Her other brother Jonathan Williams added: “She was shot in a cold-blooded slaughter.”
