WASHINGTON – The United States will exempt some foreign athletes participating in professional sports events in the United States from access restrictions imposed on account of the new coronavirus epidemic, Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf said Friday.
“In the current environment, Americans need their sport. It’s time to reopen the economy and it’s time we got our professional athletes back to work,” said Wolf in a statement from the department announcing that he order for the exemption.
