No. 19 Southern California has canceled training for the second time in three days while another player is being tested for showing symptoms of a possible COVID-19 infection.
USC also kept its team activities virtual on Tuesday after a player who traveled to the Trojans’ victory in Utah last weekend tested positive for COVID. Another player tested positive on Wednesday, and five additional players were quarantined for contact tracing.
The Trojans have not said which players are involved, but coach Clay Helton says they also have starters.
USC’s home game against fellow unbeaten Colorado is still scheduled for Saturday, but the Trojans said they will provide an update on the status after the sick player’s test results return.
USC and UCLA are the only teams in the Pac-12 South to have already played their first three games. Oregon and Oregon State also didn’t miss a game in the Pac-12 North.
