A woman who led a secret double life as a webcam girl was “beaten to death by an absinthe bottle” by her husband.
Jeff West is accused of murdering his wife Kat after his fingerprints were found on the booze bottle prosecutors say delivered the fatal blow in Calera, Alabama.
Kat was murdered in January 2018. When questioned by the police, West claimed, “I wouldn’t hurt my wife.”
The mother led a double life as an online adult model under the pseudonym ‘Kitty Kat West’.
Shelby County Circuit Judge Bill Bostick ruled that messages sent between the couple are admissible in court, revealing a volatile relationship, according to the prosecution.
John Robbins, West’s attorney, had fought by admitting the sexually accused messages between Kat and his client, claiming that they only presented common marital arguments and served no purpose.
Prosecutors allege the messages showed clear signs of serious tension in the relationship.
In a message a few weeks before her death, Kat accused her husband of “throwing away 14 years of marriage.” Another reads, “I’ll never do this vacation with you again.”
Mr. Robbins said that Kat asked her husband to take pictures of her in pink panties, high heels, and the pink bra she was wearing at the time of her death.
He argued that the couple’s relationship was in a good place.
Despite the sexually charged messages between the couple, prosecutors insist that West killed his wife by hitting her on the head with a bottle of absinthe.
She was found dead on their lawn from blunt force trauma, partially clothed and with a bottle next to her body.
Mr. Robbins argued that Kat fell drunk the night she died, hitting her head and causing her fatal injuries while West was sleeping.
He said it is not clear whether his client will take the stand.
