Woman dies in horror crash near I'm a Celebrity castle

A woman was killed in a horror crash near the I’m a Celebrity castle.

The pedestrian was reportedly in a spot where fans are taking photos of Gwrych Castle in Wales, where the reality TV series is currently being filmed.

According to The Sun, emergency services stormed to the site on the A547 in Abergele, North Wales at around 5pm yesterday.

It is believed that the woman was hit by a blue Volvo and pronounced dead on the spot, while the driver was not injured.

Police closed the road in both directions after the fatal accident and motorists were urged to avoid the area.

The coroner has been informed.

The site is only a mile from the castle and offers a clear view of the tourist attraction where the show is filmed.

There are no indications that the woman took photos at the time of the accident.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit said; “I appeal to anyone who has witnessed this tragic incident, or who may have dashcam footage, to contact the Roads Policing Unit.

“The road remains closed and will be for some time while we conduct our investigation.”

The Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed that they had dispatched two high-speed vehicles and two emergency ambulances to the scene around 5:00 PM.

Gwrych Castle became the site of the series after ITV bosses traded the Australian jungle for a 200-year-old castle over the coronavirus pandemic.

Attendees include Vernon Kay, Sir Mo Farah, Jessica Plummer, Beverley Callard and Victoria Derbyshire, while Ant and Dec still present the live shows from the castle grounds, set in 250 acres of gardens.
